Pudding Cottage - Location
Pudding Cottage is part of a small exclusive courtyard development nestled on the edge of the historic conservation town of Market Bosworth in the sleepy village of Carlton. Carlton has a long tradition of farming, in fact the name of the village originally meant the land of ''the free peasants'' and the settlement was talked of in the Domesday Book. Market Bosworth is the bigger sister and Pudding is ideally located on the long old Roman road which takes you into the village centre of Market Bosworth.
Market Bosworth is steeped in history and is best known for the decisive battle of the Wars of the Roses fought on the 22nd August 1485, when Richard became the last King of England to die on the field of battle. The historic market place, at the centre of the town, is surrounded by interesting speciality shops, cafes and restaurants and hosts a monthly Farmers Market. There are many beautiful walks; most notable is the historical former parkland of Bosworth Hall, thirty five hectares of landscaped grassland with a lake, arboretum, wildflower meadow and woodland.
The walk along the quaint gated road from Market Bosworth to the picturesque village of Sutton Cheney and the Hercules Revived, a wonderful honest English Country Inn, is highly recommended.
A beautiful light, tranquil room decorated with the timeless Kate Forman blue rose’s fabric and elegant French inspired furniture with wonderfully luxurious and relaxing sofas and armchairs this room is a genteel space.
With a flat screen television and a blue-ray dvd player, a comprehensive library of film dvds, music cds and audio books, as well as a music system with integral iPod docking station, indoor entertainment is ticked!
The local library of information is valuable and helps with planning trips out. A good selection of board games, card games and reading books are on hand also.
French doors open onto the garden with outdoor garden furniture, lounging armchairs, sofa and coffee table, perfect for drinks and catching the sun.
The open plan high specification kitchen is fitted with cream high gloss units with a breakfast bar and farmhouse tall chairs. Integrated appliances include an electric double oven and hob, a fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washing machine with condensing dryer.
A balustrade staircase rises from the reception hall to the first floor galleried landing. Opening off the galleried landing is a spacious super-king size kingside bedroom. On the ground floor is a light, relaxing king bedroom which can be arranged as one king bed or two 3ft single beds.
Both bedrooms enjoy crisp cotton bedding on the finest quality beds with designer touches sprinkled throughout, making lazy mornings in bed all the more tempting.
A contemporary white bathroom suite with a double shower cubicle with a drench shower. There is a separate panelled full size bath, plenty of storage space for toiletries and soft towels.
The cottage has a secure key safe for later arrivals. Bicycles available at the cottage.
